Help. Less.
Well, not entirely helpless, I guess; more like, dependent… Poor Steve, my web host. I bug him a zillion times a day. These colors are godawful, I know, and I’m trying to fix them. And for some reason, my links are screwy, and turning up italic in some places. Is God mad at me? Is this a theological dilemma? Sigh.
I had a really fantastic time chatting with Jean today. We forwent (new word) art altogether, and just met at a new coffee shop some friends are starting, called Talia. It’s great; really peaceful and open. We drank chai lattes and talked for a good two hours straight, swimming in some really deep, philosophical waters. Aaah, I love conversations like that. Afterwards we window-shopped for a bit, narrowly missing the tremendous thunderstorm that’s only now picking up steam, as I sit at my computer…. I’m glad I remembered to close all the windows in the volvo. Last storm I’d forgotten, and wound up with a soaked seat and a car that smelled like old milk. Which reminds me: I need to put the clothes in the dryer.
Woops, that was a big ol’ crack, right over the house. Time to go! See you all later! xo

So are you saying you don’t like the changes I made to your “Links”? That look was by design, I thought it looked “softer” than the underlines on everything. The italic links are ones that have been viewed by the user, non-italic slightly darker links are new or non-viewed links. The blue is a little soft/babyish along with the non-gender baby color of yellow. Let me know what colors you want to see next.

Steve,
Don’t you LOVE shopping?? “I think that one just looks smashing, don’t you?” “Can’t do this one it makes me look, well, I don’t know…what do you think?” “Oh sweetie, it’s precious on you.” “You look just darling.”
Just pick a blue, a yellow, and some other soft color. It’ll be great.
NOW I’ve done it. I’m dead meat. You don’t think I did THAT when (we) picked out the colors for our house, do you? “Honey whatever you think looks good, I like it…in fact I love it. We will be the talk of the town with those beautiful colors.” I’ve also learnt a few things over the years, (but not restraint). I’ll try to make it up to you, my little snookums. Oh, the fun I’m having 3,000 miles away at this moment. But JUDGEMENT day approacheth…which we are looking forward to with much anticipation. love, dad

Stevo - I just sent you an email about the links, but like a goober I asked you if you could do something you already did - make the unviewed ones darker or lighter. I think that’s okay; I just don’t like them italicized. I’m anal in this area; don’t ask me why. Something about Zen and the Art of Balance, or some such stupidity.
Also, I hate hate HATE DETEST and LOATHE the logo, and can’t wait for you to make it all better. Maybe the last one I sent you will work. You are the BEST and most patient web host in the world!

Dad - I KNOW; it’s pathetic, isn’t it? I wish I could do all this on my own, but I can’t yet. I told Steve that when we come to visit them in July, I’m sitting down with him for a complete tutorial. It’s too hard trying to communicate all the ins and outs from 3,000 miles away, online.
I HATE shopping for colors. I would go insane if I had to do this for a house. I would hire Lorraine.
And yeah, I’ll think I’ll punch your arm for good measure when I see you. =o)

Ok the logo is done, the colors are as you wish (however, I would change the pale blue to something with a gold in it) and the links are back the way they were, minus the underline.
We will change your icon, but that will take a little more manipulation.
Awaiting your command.

I took the liberty of changing the soft blue behind the links to a complimentary gold to go with the header. Then I took the ivory background and added a little green to it to give some depth to the page. Lorraine says she likes it, so I don’t care what you think. Just kidding! But I really like it, so I hope you are excited about the colors.

To everyone reading this comment: Would YOU like a web host who says he’s “awaiting your command”? Let me know, and I’ll hook you up with Steve. He’s great, I’m telling you, and his hosting is very reasonably priced. C’mon, you’ll have fun! Start a site, and I promise to read it every day and so will every one of your friends. You’ll even make new friends!
Steve, I already sent you email answers, but you know that….

I like the heading!!! Very readable. But the picture of that chick…. She needs a more…welcoming…look. And that HAIR. OH. MY. GOSH. As you can tell, I’m winding down. Only one call today, a motorcycle (Scotty) head-on into a Dodge pickup. The guy not wearing a helmet, broken femur (big bone top of your leg), broken tib-fib (small bones lower leg), no more front teeth, broken nose. Other than that he was talking to us and screaming to high heaven, “it all hurts” everywhere. But we sent him off to Emanuel Hospital with a trauma tag on his wrist. And his wife in the front seat of the ambulance. All this at 25 MPH. Each. Ouch. But he is alive and will have some time to contemplate which side of the narrow road and whether or not a helmet is good and/or appropriate.
Steve and Lorraine pick good colors-go with it-Remind mom and me to show you Rod’s article in the paper. Good exposure to “Title Wave”. ‘night dodder, dad

Gol Dad, you’re going to be seeing me in a couple weeks; I’d think you’d be nicer. Sheez. You know what bad tempers we redheads have, even if the red on the head is fake.
I always hate hearing about motorcycle accidents; riders are so vulnerable; but they will never stop us from partaking. I know that wasn’t your point… I’m glad the couple isn’t, well, dead.
I’m continuing to tweak the colors (via Steve), and am going to do my level-best to find a logo I love. I just “still haven’t found what I’m looking for…” It’s out there, somewhere… Love, me

Kel, Good morning to you.
“Never give up, never give up, never, ever give up…” Good old Winston had it down pat. You will find it I’m sure. Don’t let us stick in the mud types discourage you with our smart remarks. I just love teasing…It takes time and work to find the right combo of colors that fit together. I’m glad that you have Steve and Lorraine to give you very good advice about it. Beautiful day here, sunny and cool. Jesse will be very happy and pleasantly surprised to see you guys at his graduation. And he is very proud of his brother and the class A’s are very impressive. He’ll love it. Be sure and give him a squeeze for us. And tell him we are proud of him. I’m looking forward to the hot-drink-in-the-morning time (since you are back off coffee) so we can discuss deep theological ideas, like angels on pins and other really important issues. The beach is calling, I just heard it!! Have a great day and don’t melt into the woodwork. dad

Dennis, what article in what paper?
